Section 13 - Arm Durability Test for Single Seat Units - Angular - Cyclic

This test is used to evaluate the durability of the armrests to withstand angular loads caused by someone using the armrests as support to get out of a chair. The test applies to single seat samples with two armrests. The sample will be secured without inhibiting movement of the arms; however, preventing rotation of the sample if the sample swivels. The loading fixture will distribute the load 4 in. across the arm and initially apply the force at a 10 degree angle to both arms simultaneously. Each arm will receive 90 lb. of force for 60,000 cycles. The cycle rate will be set between 10 and 30 cycles per minute.
